Our university/school/institution/ensemble would like to buy some of your publications, but you are not an approved vendor for our institution. Would you mind filling out some paperwork to make that happen?

Yes! We are no stranger to some of the hoops that need to be jumped through in order to get music purchased and performed. Please contact us with details, and let us know how we can help.

I’d like to record some of your music, what do I do?

We love it when musicians enjoy our music so much they are willing to take the time (and money) to make that happen! You’ve already achieved the first step in reaching out. We’d be happy to help you secure a mechanical license so you and your record label can move onto the fun part of recording. Please contact us with details, and let us know how we can help. We’ll do our best to make it accessible as soon as possible! Here’s more info about mechanical licensing and copyright.

Do I have to get a mechanical license when I record your arrangements?

Yes. Please contact us with details, and let us know how we can help. We’ll do our best to make it accessible as soon as possible! Here’s more info about mechanical licensing and copyright.

Are you accepting works from new composers?

At this time Spotted Rocket is only carrying publications by Nicole and Brian Chamberlain. At some point Spotted Rocket may consider publishing other composers. Feel free to contact Spotted Rocket and send your website. Please do not send any scores until asked. A gal's mailbox can fill up fast!

I love some of your pieces, but its not for my instrument. Could you arrange it for me?

It depends on many factors (largely extended techniques specific to the original instrumentation, among others) I love arranging as well as composing. Shoot me an email and we can discuss specifics.

I love some of your pieces, but its not for my instrument. Can I arrange it for my needs?

I’m glad you love our music enough to want to adapt it for your needs, and thanks for asking, but we prefer to do that ourselves. Anytime you are going to change the structure or instrumentation you legally need the composer’s and publisher’s permission. Reach out to us, let’s see what we can do! Here’s more info about copyright.

I’d like to commission one of the composers. How do I do that?

This is our FAVORITE question! Shoot us an email! Let’s do this!

Why did you start your own publishing company?

I feel I am my own best promoter. I also have training as a graphic designer and a music engraver. It felt silly to pay someone else to do the work I can do myself. Besides, if someone wants to play my music they usually contact me directly and not my publisher. It just made sense to do it all inhouse. Then I could form better relationships with the people who are performing my music.

Do I have to pay for a copy of your music?

This is what I do for a living. I have a dog and a husband to feed. Let's face it, most of the pieces are between $4-$25. I really doubt that's gonna break anyone. Here’s more info about copyright.

Can I pay by other means than Paypal?

Yes! We heard you and we now accept all major credit cards! Having trouble paying? Please don’t let it stop you from buying from us. Send us an email if you have run into problems.

How are the PDF’s delivered?

PDF’s are delivered as a link to a .zip to your email. The link is only available for 24 hours so be sure to download the file as soon as you can.

Why is my download being blocked?

Check your anti-virus settings (ex. Norton) to allow downloads from spottedrocket.com. Also check that your browser isn’t blocking ads/windows from popping up. (Check the settings in your browser). It is also common for organizations, schools, and universities to block all downloads. Check with your IT department for advice. If you come to your wit’s end, let us know and we’ll be happy to email the pdf’s individually. Just know it make take some time since this is a one and a half person operation.

What is a zip file?

A zip file is a way to deliver multiple files in the most efficient way possible. This ecommerce site only allows a delivery of a single file. We felt it best to deliver separate parts and score files delivered in this package rather than a large PDF (which makes part delivery to performers a BIG headache). Zip files are compatible with every platform.

How do I open zip file?

Just double click on the zip file to open. You can also right click the zip file to extract all files and save to your preferred location on your computer or tablet.
