The Cypher Impact (PDF)

The Cypher Impact was commissioned by Slippery Rock University Flute Ensemble directed by Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich.

The Cypher Impact is both a tribute to hip-hop culture and a reflection on the power of collective creativity. By blending the traditional sounds of the flute with the rhythmic energy of beatboxing, the piece demonstrates the ways in which music can transcend genres and unite individuals through the shared experience of making art together. Through this work, we are reminded of the impact that collaborative spaces like the cypher have on fostering artistic growth, creative expression, and community building.
